Center walkway

Description

Center walkway for the hachette engine room.  Despite what Hachette would have you believe, there were no gangways at the base of the machine, instead the whole level was a single continuous floor allowing rapid movement from port to starboard engines.  Also the main pressure gauges were grouped together on a single panel placed in the center of the room.

This kit comes as five pieces, the actual walkway floor complete with engineers desk with pressure guages & the electric winches that were used for moving heavy equipment during repairs and maintenance.  Three upright columns one of which is detailed with the engine telegraphs, and one has the engine room telephones attached.  Each column has cross beams attached at the relevant positions.  And finally a top beam which spans the entire length of the engine room with some steam pipes running underneath.
